I was just reading about Tommy Lee "Poo Nanny" Green's tragic case, and something struck me about the community's response to his memorial. It seems like Tommy was genuinely loved and respected by those who knew him, and seeing such a public outpouring of support after his passing really shows the light he brought to people's lives. It's so painful to think about his son growing up without his father but heartening to see how the community rallied around Tommy's family. With New Orleans facing so many challenges around violence, these moments of unity are crucial. Did anyone else attend the memorial or have any memories of Tommy they’d like to share here? It’s important we keep his spirit alive in these discussions.

I recently stumbled upon the case of Tommy Lee "Poo Nanny" Green and it struck a chord with me. I can't even imagine what his son, Tommy Jr., must have gone through losing his father at such a young age. Growing up without that paternal guidance is something no child should experience. What really tugs at my heart is thinking about how these stories of violence are part of a bigger issue in New Orleans. How do we even begin to address the violence that takes away people like Tommy? Does anyone know if there have been any movements or community efforts that emerged following his tragedy? It just feels like something needs to change to prevent more stories like his from being written.
