I’ve been following the heartbreaking case of Joseph Almanza, and something that caught my attention was the forensic evidence they used to link Julian Brown and Anthony Smith to the crime scene. It’s so important to acknowledge the hard work of the forensic teams in cases like this. I can’t imagine the painstaking efforts they go through to ensure justice is served. The fact that they were able to trace DNA on shell casings and match a firearm six weeks after the crime just blows my mind. It just goes to show how far we’ve come in using technology to solve crimes, and it’s a positive step towards holding those responsible accountable. My thoughts continue to be with Joseph’s loved ones as they navigate through this incredibly challenging time. It’s a small consolation, but I hope knowing these tools are out there brings a bit of comfort to anyone else dealing with similar tragedies.
