Has anyone else been following the Amari Brown case? I've been thinking a lot about the impact he had on his community, especially given his volunteer work during the pandemic. The outpouring of grief and the vigil really shows how much he was loved and respected. It's so hard to wrap my head around the fact that someone who was giving back so much was taken in such a senseless way. I'm also concerned about the youth violence aspect highlighted by this case. Amari was only 17, and the suspect is the same age. It’s terrifying to think about kids this young being involved in such serious crimes. Do any of you think there are more effective ways the community can support our youth to prevent these tragedies? It seems like there needs to be more focus on intervention and support systems. Would love to hear your thoughts or any updates on what's being done locally to address these issues.
