Has anyone found more info about the connection between Mercey-Marie Brasher and David Gilbert Colvin? It’s so hard to wrap my head around the randomness of this tragedy. The officials mention robbery as the motive, but there's got to be more to the story, right? It seems unlikely that a robbery would escalate to such extreme violence without some kind of history or link between them. My heart truly goes out to her loved ones who are seeking answers and trying to make sense of this senseless act. If anyone has insights or thoughts, I'd love to hear them. We need to make sure that justice is served for Mercey-Marie.

I know this is already a few years old, but she's been on my mind lately, so I'd like to offer some insight. She deserves justice. She was a good kid, who got caught up w the wrong crowd. Her so called boyfriend, the other 'victim' in the shooting, was a part of setting this all up. No real reason, besides he wanted her to do something, she didn't want to do. She was an easy victim. Not from the streets. Not involved w gangs. But her intelligence was attractive to these scumbags. The guy who was arrested, was NOT the shooter. His involvement was that he ended up w her iPhone (among 20 + other phones) after the fact. He was tried for her murder, but was not convicted. No further suspects are being sought in the case. What the news didn't report, was that the Merceys 'boyfriend' (other shooting victim), and Mercey had stayed the weekend prior to her death at her parents ha in Riverside. In the middle of the nite, boyfriend woke up telling me mercey they had to return to San Bernardino, where they were staying. In the days after the shooting, boyfriend was overheard saying that they'd been at her parents house 'for her to have a chance to see her parents one last time n say goodbye. She just didn't know it'.

While mercey n her bf were in some abandoned house, bf alleges that some guy surprised them, demanded their fone (which mercey did hand over immediately), as supposedly, the bf also did. Then bf ran out of the hs, leaving mercey behind. Bf was shot at, but managed to only be grazed in the arm, as he ran allegedly to find help. But he returned within a few minutes to find mercey had been shot. Unbeknownst to bf, police were in the immediate area already due to other crime taking place in the neighborhood, so police themselves heard the gunshots n immediately went in search of victims. Coincidentally, there was an independent news source reporter accompanying the police that day, so they managed to capture when mercey was being removed from the abandoned house. In that recording, u can clearly see bf, the location of his upper arms bandage, where he was shot, as well as see he is obviously smiling at different times, and appears to show no concern for his girlfriend, only asking "where's Mikey" to someone in that isn't seen in the video. His reaction while being treated for his arm graze is overreactive, and appears rehearsed. The video is available for viewing on YouTube. Morgue officials would later inform her parents that she had been shot no less than 5 times, and had been severely beaten, with every bone in her face being broken. Funeral home director told her parents that they received other people who had been in serious fatal car accidents that were ejected from the vehicle and flew face first into a telephone pole, that didn't have the same trauma as what merceys face had.

Thank you for this enlightened account of what happened. What kind of psychopath potentially sets this kind of thing up and why? There is no reason for this. I appreciate your candor. Hopefully the truth will come out someday.

I’ve been following the updates on the tragic case of Mercey-Marie Brasher, and my thoughts are with her loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Something that’s been on my mind is the intense pressure and trauma that another victim must be experiencing. Surviving such a terrifying ordeal, while dealing with the emotional impact of what happened to Mercey-Marie, must be overwhelming. It’s astounding that they were able to recover and get discharged from the hospital so quickly, but it makes me wonder how they are coping mentally and emotionally. I sincerely hope they have all the support they need and are surrounded by people who care about them.
Also, does anyone else wonder about the additional precautions that the community might be taking? I know these incidents can sometimes spur people to be more vigilant about neighborhood safety. It would be reassuring to know if local residents are organizing or getting assistance to ensure such horrifying incidents don’t happen again. Stay safe everyone. ?
