I’ve been diving into this case for a while now, and something that keeps lingering in my mind is how deeply technology played a role in both the crime’s horrific reveal and, ultimately, in Raymond Weber's arrest. It just seems so haunting that such tragic events unfolded in real-time on social media. Can you imagine how traumatic it must have been for anyone who accidentally stumbled upon that live-stream? My heart really goes out to Savannah Rae Theberge’s family and to the loved ones of the other young victim. It’s hard to shake off the thought of how social media can be such a double-edged sword—bringing people together yet exposing them to unimaginable horrors. I hope the authorities are addressing how to better manage this facet of crime and media. I can't imagine the turmoil her family must be going through, having their daughter’s final moments broadcasted like that. I hope they find strength and support. They’ve set up a fund to bring Savannah back home to Georgia for a memorial, which is an effort I sincerely hope is successful. No family should have to endure this, and she deserves to be honored with dignity and love.
