I was reading about the VTA shooting and stumbled across something that really struck me. Lars "Kep" Kepler Lane, one of the victims, had been such a cornerstone at his job. Working since '99, he must have been a fixture at the VTA, someone who knew the ropes and helped guide others. It made me think about how tightly knit these workplaces can be, how these bonds become almost like a second family over time. I can't even begin to imagine the grief his friends and colleagues at the VTA are going through. Losing someone who's been a constant presence for over two decades has got to leave a massive void. I hope the community can rally around each other and find some solace in shared memories of Kep's life and work. This situation also made me ponder how many lives were entwined with his, both at work and outside of it. In tragedies like this, we often focus on the incident itself, but it's the ripples of loss spreading outwards that are so profound. My heart goes out to everyone who's having to navigate the aftermath of such a needless and senseless act. It just shows how important it is for us to take mental health and behavioral warnings seriously, for the sake of everyone's safety.
