I’ve been thinking about Cleveland York III’s tragic case from 2013 and can’t help but feel for his family and friends. It must be incredibly painful for them to not have closure after all these years. I’ve read that evidence and eyewitnesses were hard to come by in Baton Rouge during that time, which only makes things tougher in solving cases like Cleveland’s. Does anyone know what initiatives were in place back then to address the violence plaguing the city, especially in East Baton Rouge Parish? Were there any community programs or police operations that aimed to tackle this wave of crime? Given the significant loss, one would hope there were some efforts to turn things around, though I understand these issues are incredibly complex and challenging to solve overnight. If anyone has insights or knows of any local efforts from around that period, I'd appreciate hearing about them.
