I recently came across the case of Patrick Baker, and I can't shake the thought of how his wife and young daughter must feel having witnessed something so terrifying and tragic. It's haunting to imagine the trauma they must be dealing with, and my heart truly goes out to them. They saw the worst possible outcome unfold right before their eyes. I hope they find some semblance of peace and support from their community during such a rough time. It's such a stark reminder about the impact of gun violence and how it not only takes lives but also leaves families deeply scarred. The family's statement during the sentencing hearing highlights the true cost of what happened. Grateful that justice was served, but the emotional wounds will take much longer to heal. Every time I read about these cases, I wish there were more ways to prevent such senseless acts and protect families from experiencing such profound loss.
