I've been following the case of Jeremy Ray Brommer since it happened, and I can't shake the feeling of sorrow for his family, especially for his girlfriend and their baby boy who will grow up without ever knowing his dad. It tears me up just thinking about it.
One thing that's been on my mind is the fact that the shooting happened in a motel parking lot. Isn't it alarming how these public spaces can become the backdrop for such violence? It was supposedly a targeted shooting, which makes me wonder about the particular safety measures in place at these locations. Do motels have the security needed to prevent such tragedies, or is this an area that needs more attention from management and authorities?
I really hope that this case prompts a re-evaluation of security measures in similar locations. No other family should have to endure what Jeremy's loved ones are going through. It's scary to think how places where people seek temporary shelter can become scenes of such horror. If anyone has thoughts on this, I'd be interested to hear them.
