It's just so painful to think about the trauma that Alexander's family and friends are enduring after losing him so suddenly and senselessly. One of the things that stands out to me is how close to home this hit for everyone in Wilmington. I read an article about the community rallying around Alexander's family with vigils and support, and it truly underscores the unity and strength people can show in times of tragedy. Even though two suspects have been apprehended, and there's a glimmer of justice, it's impossible to truly fill the void left in the lives of those who knew and loved Alexander. It’s terrifying to realize how random and indiscriminately violence can shatter so many lives in an instant. I hope there's more focus on preventing these occurrences and supporting families like Alexander’s who endure the aftermath.
