Does anyone else find it absolutely haunting how this mass shooting has stolen the presence of a man like Sergio Harris from his family? I keep thinking about how Pamela Harris described him as someone always smiling, and then to imagine that vibrant energy suddenly snuffed out in such a senseless way. It's just devastating for a community to lose people who bring so much light into the lives of others. The chaotic nature of the crime scene is truly disturbing, with over a hundred shell casings scattered around—it's hard to fathom the terror and confusion of that night. It's also incredibly frustrating to think about how gang violence continues to spiral, harming innocent people like Sergio who were just out enjoying their night. Props to the Sacramento Police Department for their efforts, but it feels like there's got to be more done on a broader scale. We can't keep losing people like Sergio. My heart goes out to Leticia and their kids who now face the future without him. I hope they find some peace and that the community can rally to ensure this never happens again.
