I've been following the Poirier case with a heavy heart. There's a lot to process, especially given the nature of their deaths and the sheer tragedy that unfolded within that home in Irvine. One detail that sticks with me is how the family had been out of contact with their extended family in Canada for over a year. It's chilling to think that their absence went unnoticed for so long. It makes you wonder if there were any red flags that could have been noticed earlier, or if someone local could have picked up on something amiss. It’s a painful reminder of how important regular communication is with family, even when separated by distance. I can't imagine the pain their extended family must be feeling now, and my thoughts go out to them during this incredibly difficult time. It’s also a testament to the importance of welfare checks, as hard as it must have been for the officers to make that discovery. Hoping anyone with any shred of further information comes forward to help piece together more of what led to this.
