I keep thinking about the role that restraining orders play in cases like Kristy’s. It's so frustrating that even when victims take steps to protect themselves, like Kristy did, it sometimes just isn't enough to prevent a tragedy. I read that she had sought protection multiple times, and it breaks my heart to know she lived in such fear. It makes me wonder how the system can be improved to ensure better safety for victims. Are there any experts here who can weigh in on whether additional measures could have made a difference in Kristy's case? It feels like there must be more we can do to support those in similar situations. Her story just reinforces how crucial it is for us to push for changes in how domestic violence cases are handled.
