It's so disconcerting and saddening to read about what happened to Arturo Coronado. What really gets to me is the timing of his murder, at 4 a.m. It's a time when most people are safely tucked in bed, yet Arturo found himself in a life-or-death situation. It makes me wonder about the sense of security in our neighborhoods. Are we doing enough to ensure our own safety and that of our neighbors? It’s clear from everything I’ve read that Arturo was a salt-of-the-earth type of guy who worked hard for many years and cared deeply for his family and community. It’s so frustrating to think that his life was ended over something as trivial as a car part. I sincerely hope that those responsible are brought to justice not just for Arturo, but for his daughter Amalya and the rest of his family who are left trying to make sense of this incredibly unfair loss. How do we as a community come together to address incidents like this? There seems to be an ongoing trend of violence happening at times when people should feel the safest. My thoughts are with his family, and I hope something positive can come from such a devastating tragedy.
