I came across Robert Evan Sarkkinen's case recently and something that's been puzzling me is the circumstances around the loss of his personal items. His clothing, wallet, cell phone, and adult diaper were found together along a trail, but no other traces of him turned up. Having his wallet and cell phone there makes me wonder if he purposely left them behind or if something more troubling happened that we aren't aware of. Considering his tendency to wander, it's odd that he wouldn't have taken his phone, at least. Could it have been his way of shedding his identity while he wandered in a state of grief, or might it suggest he met with unexpected trouble? It's a haunting mystery, and I hope ongoing efforts might finally bring answers for his family. Thoughts?
