I've been reading through all the posts about the tragic events of September 23, 1970, and something that really stands out to me is how unassuming Joseph C. White seemed to those around him. How does someone who appeared so quiet and gentle, and who didn't socialize much, end up committing such a horrific act? It's baffling that someone can work day in and day out alongside people and then turn on them so violently. My heart goes out to Patricia Chromik's family and friends, and all the loved ones of the victims. It’s terrifying to think that those around us might be struggling silently with something that could lead them to harm others. This raises important questions about recognizing warning signs and providing support to those who might be isolating themselves, doesn't it?
