Hey everyone,
I’ve been reading up about the heartbreaking story of Valentina Francesca Suriani, and something that stands out to me is the community's response during that scary time in NYC. Neighborhoods were so on edge, and people really banded together to support one another while trying to deal with the anxiety of knowing someone out there was watching and targeting young couples. I can only imagine how terrifying it must have been for Valentina’s family and friends to live through that uncertainty and fear.
Does anyone remember how neighborhoods in the Bronx reacted during the time of the attacks? Were there any specific community efforts or advice shared amongst each other to try and keep everyone safe? I think about the strength and resilience of those communities, especially when faced with such random acts of violence.
Sending thoughts to all who continue to feel the impact of those events. Stay safe, everyone.
