I’ve been thinking a lot about the bus terminal’s security measures back in the late ’70s. It seems like it wasn’t uncommon for people causing disturbances to be removed but then able to return soon after. Officer Hank Koebel tragically encountered the suspect after such an incident. It makes me wonder about how security protocols were enforced and what has changed since then. It’s absolutely devastating to think that more stringent measures could have potentially prevented this tragic event. My heart goes out to Officer Koebel’s family and all those who knew him. It's clear he was truly dedicated to his duty. Does anyone know how much security procedures have evolved at places like the bus terminal in the decades since?
