It's been almost 40 years since Officer Ruotolo was tragically killed, and I can't help but think about the toll this event must have taken on his partner, Officer Tanya Braithwaite. Imagine being in such a high-stress situation, not only losing a colleague but also sustaining significant injuries yourself. It must've been incredibly traumatic. And yet, she managed to push through and continue her service. That's nothing short of remarkable. My heart goes out to her and every officer who has had to experience the loss of a partner on the force. It's a bond that's like no other, and when it's broken in such a violent way, the scars run deep. Just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge her bravery and strength. Officer Braithwaite, if you ever see this, know that there are folks out there who remember and respect your courage.
