I was thinking about Investigator Snyder's case and how chillingly determined the suspect was to carry out this terrible act. It’s baffling and infuriating that someone with such a blatant vendetta was out on bail and able to target Snyder. It’s scary how the system sometimes allows dangerous individuals to slip through the cracks. My heart goes out to Snyder’s wife and daughters—they’ve had their world torn apart by an act of violence that should never have happened. It makes you wonder about the changes needed to prevent suspects like this one from having the chance to harm others while awaiting trial. It’s sobering to think about how many other officers are put at risk under similar circumstances. Snyder’s death should prompt discussions about how to better protect those who protect us.
