Hey everyone, I've been going through some of the cases in Oakland from 2016, and Andrew Jackson's murder has been on my mind. It's so upsetting to think about how his case, like many others, is still without answers. I read that during that year, the number of freeway shootings in Alameda County reached an alarming 74, and Andrew was tragically caught in what seems like a senseless act. What's even more troubling is the impact on East Oakland, where unfortunately, the cycle of violence has left a deep mark on the community. It's heartbreaking (I know we don't like using that word on here, but it's true) to see families like Andrew's desperately seeking justice with no resolution in sight. I really feel for the advocacy groups that are trying to shed light on these cases. They’re doing important work, but it's such a huge uphill battle given the lack of evidence and witnesses. It's tough to think about how much more needs to be done to make our communities safe and ensure these violent acts don’t keep happening. Hoping for some breakthroughs in these investigations soon, for Andrew's family and everyone else who’s been affected. Would love to hear if anyone has any thoughts on how we can support these communities or the advocacy groups more effectively. Take care, Jamie
