Hey everyone,
I’ve been following Jamal Surtain's case ever since I first heard about it. It’s just tragic to think about the young lives lost to senseless violence, especially in a vibrant city like New Orleans. I recently read that the police are still working hard to find any leads, and it got me wondering about the role of community involvement in solving cases like this.
I know there’s always talk about “no snitching” or fear of retaliation, but I truly believe that community cooperation could be a huge game changer here. It’s understandable that people are scared, but the pain of Jamal’s family and friends must be immense. Maybe initiatives that protect anonymous witnesses could help?
Does anyone have insights or suggestions on how they think communities can be more encouraged to come forward with information? Or any examples of initiatives that have worked in other cities?
We owe it to Jamal and others to keep pushing for answers. ?
