Does anyone else ever think about the courage (or perhaps desperation) it took for Thomas and Rosemarie Uva to target the mafia like they did? Their story reminds me of how complex and layered people’s lives can be. I can't help but feel for their families—they were facing the holiday season only to lose them so violently. It's unsettling to think about the moments leading up to that tragic Christmas Eve. I also wonder, what were they thinking during their last shopping trip? Did they sense any danger, or were they just excited about Christmas? It's heartbreaking that their lives ended in such a horrific manner, and it's a grim reminder of the peril that comes with confrontations like these. Those left behind must still feel the absence decades later. Keeping their loved ones in my thoughts.
