I came across an old newspaper clipping about Mi Kyung Kim from the LIRR tragedy, and it really made me pause and reflect on how these events ripple through communities and time. Mi Kyung was 27, just getting into the prime of life, full of potential and dreams. It's heartbreakingly poignant to think about all the moments she and the other victims were robbed of due to that senseless act of violence. One aspect that stands out is the bravery shown by the passengers who managed to subdue Ferguson. Their courage in such a terrifying situation is commendable, and without their quick and selfless action, the death toll could have been even higher. It’s hard to imagine how terrifying it must have been on that train, yet these individuals stepped up with sheer bravery. It’s a powerful reminder of the human capacity for courage even amidst the darkest of times. I'm curious if anyone here has insights into how Mi Kyung's family or the other victims' families have coped over the years? It must be such a long journey of healing. My thoughts are with all those affected by this tragedy even after all these years.
