I came across Daja Robinson's story recently, and it has truly stuck with me. Imagining her just sitting on that bus, minding her own business after a friend's celebration, only to have her life cut short in such a senseless act is hard to swallow. It hits me just how incredibly unsafe simple, everyday activities can be if there's unchecked violence in an area. Something that isn't mentioned as often is the sheer number of rounds fired. Nine bullets into a public bus is just terrifying to think about. I can't help but wonder about the others on that bus, too—how do they cope with witnessing such brutality and randomness? And for her family, not having anyone held accountable must be extremely frustrating. It’s comforting, at least, to see the community coming together, as well as public figures like 50 Cent stepping in to honor her memory. I hope this raises more awareness about the violence affecting our communities and helps drive change, no matter how far off it seems. Sending love to all of Daja's loved ones who continue to miss her.

Hey everyone, I’ve been following Daja Robinson’s case, and my heart really goes out to her family and all who knew her. I wanted to talk about something that seems to be popping up a lot in conversations: the role of social media in escalating conflicts, especially among young people. It’s tragic how a few posts or comments can spark such destructive actions. In Daja’s case, it seems like the social media beef between these crews led to a senseless display of violence that cost an innocent girl her life. Teenagers often don’t realize the ripple effect of their words online. It makes me wonder what steps can be taken to educate them about the potential consequences of their interactions. Given how integrated social media is in daily life, what can schools, communities, and platforms do to minimize such violent escalations? How do we hold individuals accountable while also fostering a more respectful online environment? Daja’s passing is a sobering reminder of these challenges. Any thoughts or ideas on how we can address this issue more effectively? It’s a conversation worth having in honor of Daja and countless others affected by such tragedies.
