Has anyone else been following the details about Robert C. Bennett Sr.'s neighborhood on C Street in Buffalo? I read that area had been experiencing a lot of crime back in 2014, and it makes me wonder how much the community has changed since then. The fact that Robert was murdered there is just so tough to reconcile with the image of a man who spent his life helping others and making his surroundings better for everyone. It’s compelling to think about how the increase in crime affected not just the numbers but real people and families like Robert’s. For those in the area, do you feel it's a safer place now? Sending thoughts to all who knew him as they continue to navigate this loss.

Did anyone else find it incredibly touching how Robert’s neighbors described him? I read that even in his retirement, he was always helping out with community gardens and making sure his block looked nice. It's just so heartwarming to see that he was not only a hero in his service days but continued to be one in his community. When I think about people like Robert, it’s even harder to grasp how someone could be taken away so violently. It’s comforting to know they caught those responsible, but I can't imagine the void his absence must leave for those who knew him. How have similar communities dealt with such losses and continued to honor people like Robert?
