Hey everyone,
I came across an old newspaper article from 2015 while researching Lawrence Morgan's case, and it mentioned a candlelight vigil that his family organized on the first anniversary of his passing. I can't even imagine the pain they must have felt gathering in his memory and trying to make sense of such a senseless loss. What struck me the most was the turn-out from the community. People who knew Lawrence described him as not just a friend, but someone who genuinely cared about others and tried to create a better environment for his young child. It’s apparent that he touched the lives of many around him.
These vigils and public gatherings show the power of a close-knit community coming together to support one another during unimaginable times. I hope that their efforts have provided some comfort to his family and helped keep Lawrence’s story in the public eye. Justice may be taking time, but it’s the strength and perseverance of the community that can truly keep the momentum going. If anyone has attended or knows more about these gatherings, I'd love to hear your thoughts or experiences. Let's keep this discussion alive and continue to seek the justice that Lawrence and his family deserve. Thanks for listening, everyone.
