Has anyone here ever looked into the potential impact of community organizing in the Bronx around the time of Shawn Ross's murder? I’ve been trying to wrap my head around how many lives might be saved if more attention was given to preventive measures in neighborhoods affected by drug crew violence. It’s so distressing to think about not only how Shawn’s family has been affected but also how entire communities are living under the threat of such violence. I know these issues are complex, but has there been any significant movement or change in the Bronx since Polanco's conviction? Sending thoughts and support to Shawn's family and all those impacted. I've been thinking a lot about the impact this must have had on Shawn Ross's family and friends. From everything I've read, Shawn seemed like he had a big personality and was loved by many in his community. It's such a tragedy when someone so young is taken away in such a violent manner. The fact that Jason Polanco was part of such a large-scale drug operation just underscores the senselessness of these crimes. I've been reading through some of the trial coverage, and I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for the family to sit through that, reliving the pain and hearing all the details. It's a small comfort that justice was served, but no sentence can ever replace the loss they have suffered. Keeping Shawn's loved ones in my thoughts.
