I recently came across the case of Carl Ward, and something about it really shook me. I was particularly moved by the efforts of his family, especially his sister J-Asia Earth. I read her open letter to Carl's killer, and it’s clear how desperately she wants justice, not just for Carl, but for their entire community. It's incredibly sad to think about how gun violence can rip families apart and leave so many questions unanswered.
I can’t help but think about the broader context here. Carl's family advocating for more after-school programs is such a proactive step. It really shows they are committed to trying to prevent other families from experiencing such loss. It makes me wonder if enough is being done city-wide to offer support and opportunities for youth to stay engaged and safe.
It's been years since Carl's death, and yet there seems to be no progress in the investigation. Does anyone have any insights or thoughts on what more could be done to keep his memory alive and make progress in finding justice? It's so important to continue these conversations and keep the spotlight on these cases until there are real answers.
