Did anyone else notice how close Gorrell's car was found to the Rock Creek winter trailhead? I’m familiar with that area, and it can be quite tricky even for seasoned hikers. The trails around there can be confusing, especially if you veer off the main paths. The fact that his car was parked there makes me wonder if he intended to go for a hike, maybe to clear his mind or something. If he was somewhat familiar with those trails, perhaps he underestimated the challenges, or maybe the weather played a role. Anyone remember what the weather conditions were like around August 3rd? A sudden storm could easily disorient someone. Just trying to piece some possibilities together here. What does everyone else think?

I've been thinking a lot about the discovery of Gorrell's Ford Escape near the Rock Creek winter trailhead. It's odd that the vehicle was only found a week after he went missing. I've hiked in that area myself, and while it's not uncommon for cars to be parked near trailheads, you would think someone might have noticed it sooner, especially since his family and authorities were actively looking for him. I wonder if there was a reason he parked it there specifically, it's really haunting considering his familiarity with the trails. It makes me think that perhaps he intended to go further into a lesser-known area. Has anyone else on here hiked that trail? If so, are there any lesser-known paths or places someone like Gorrell might have thought to explore? I hope they can find out more soon; his family needs answers.

Anyone familiar with hiking conditions in the Silverthorne area around August? Trying to piece together what might've happened with Gorrell. I know he had some hiking experience, but the weather and trail conditions can change fast, especially for someone who maybe isn't regularly active on those trails. Maybe he thought he was prepared but ran into unforeseen trouble? I can’t help but wonder if there were any sudden weather changes or possibly new trail markers that could have confused someone familiar with the area. Thoughts or insights? Anyone local to the area share more info about trail conditions or if there's been similar incidents?
