I keep coming back to the role of alcohol in the tragic case of Dennis Perks and Ronna Nary. It's absolutely devastating to think about how substance abuse can contribute to such a catastrophic ending to a relationship. For those who knew Dennis personally, as well as the community as a whole, it's got to be incredibly difficult to reconcile the image of a man who was once known for his kindness and service with the situation that unfolded. I sincerely hope that lessons can be learned about the influence of substance abuse in domestic settings, potentially sparking conversations that could prevent similar tragedies in the future. My heart goes out to their families and loved ones as they navigate the aftermath of this immense loss.
