Just got done reading up on the Michael Tenorio case, and it’s really terrifying to think about how entrenched gang activity can affect everyday life in neighborhoods like Cypress Hills. I’m especially struck by the involvement of the Elite Assassin Millas and their connection to the Bloods—it's chilling to know that such organized crime networks are behind so much of the violence. Has there been any progress reported in terms of community efforts to curb gang influence in Brooklyn in the years since this happened? It just seems so crucial to tackle these issues from the ground up, in addition to law enforcement actions. My thoughts go out to Michael’s family and friends during such a tough time. They deserve justice and a safer community.
