Does anyone else feel a chill when thinking about how Sammy Stubbs, just enjoying a card game, became a target that night? It's truly unsettling how something so everyday could turn so tragic. I've been reading about the Southside gang's operations in Newburgh, and it's terrifying to know they were involved in numerous shootings, with Sammy's death being a part of this larger pattern of violence. It's deeply concerning to think about how entrenched this gang rivalry was in the city, affecting so many lives. My heart goes out to Sammy's family and the entire community who knew him. They're the ones left grappling with the shock and loss. I'm relieved that justice has begun to take its course with Davis' sentencing, but it makes me wonder—how do we move forward and prevent more tragedies like this? How does a community begin to heal from such persistent violence?
