Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the case of Rysheen Ervin, and something that really got to me is how the community reacted after the tragedy. It seems like he was well-known and liked around the neighborhood, and seeing everyone come together during such a dark time was both moving and revealing of Brownsville’s tight-knit spirit. There were vigils and memorials held at the playground near where it happened, and I read somewhere that local leaders organized community meetings to address the violence and push for change.
It's just so sad that it often takes something like this to spur action. I can’t imagine the pain Rysheen’s friends and family must be experiencing, having lost someone so young and full of life. The response from the community, though, shows that they’re determined to prevent this kind of senseless tragedy from striking again. What do you all think about the community’s role and responsibility in making neighborhoods safer?
Sending love and strength to all who knew Rysheen. ?

Just came across this case, and my heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Rysheen Ervin. What really struck me about this tragedy is the fact that it happened in broad daylight, right near a playground. It’s terrifying to think about the kids who might have been nearby and how this could affect them. That area must feel less safe for the residents now.
I read that NY State Senator Jesse Hamilton was there and saw the shooting firsthand. It’s chilling to think that this occurred while he was there to discuss safety measures for the community. It highlights how violence can erupt anywhere, and it shows the importance of continuing efforts to make neighborhoods like Brownsville safer for everyone.
I'm curious about what additional measures have been put in place since then. Have there been any positive changes in the community after this incident? This hits hard as a reminder of how deeply these events impact entire neighborhoods—not just the families directly involved. Hoping for healing and peace for all those affected.
