Has anyone else been thinking about the role technology—or the lack of it—played in this tragedy with Joe Stepinski? It’s chilling to realize that despite Stepinski and Melissa Rotundo having a camera installed to document Barrett’s harassment, it didn’t deter or prevent the ultimate crime. It makes you wonder if there's more that can be done with technology to prevent these situations from escalating. Could smarter surveillance or direct lines to law enforcement have made a difference here?
I can't help but feel immense sympathy for Melissa and her kids, dealing not only with their profound loss but also knowing they tried to seek help through official channels that didn’t respond adequately. No family should have to feel unheard when they're clearly in a situation as threatening as this.
