I’ve been thinking a lot about something that doesn’t get discussed enough in Michael Gerard Smith’s case—the role his community played in the investigation. From everything I’ve read, it seems like his neighbors and friends were crucial in piecing together what happened and providing information to the authorities. It's amazing how people came together during such an unsettling time to support not only Michael’s family but also the investigation. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for his family, but knowing that the community rallied behind them and actively participated must've been a source of strength. It kind of shows how vital a close-knit community can be in seeking justice. RIP Michael, knowing that those around you did everything they could to honor your memory and find answers. It's these efforts that help rebuild after such tragedies. Thoughts and love go out to his family and everyone who stepped up during those difficult times.
