Has anyone else thought about the role that neighbors play in cases like Luz Cuza’s? It’s both sad and a reminder of our collective responsibility. Luz’s neighbors were there right away, trying to get help after the gunshot. I can’t imagine the chaos and fear that must have engulfed the neighborhood that morning. It makes me wonder how many potential warning signs go unnoticed or unreported by those around us. In situations of domestic violence, it seems like reaching out for help can sometimes be difficult or even dangerous for the victim. Maybe as neighbors, friends, or members of a community, we need to be more vigilant and supportive. We should encourage open communication so that others in distress feel they can ask for help without judgment. Sending thoughts to Luz's loved ones, especially her three children, as they navigate this difficult time. It's essential to have these conversations and push for systemic changes in domestic violence support and intervention.
