Hey everyone, I've been following Oscar Antonio Blanco-Hernandez's case and something that stood out to me was the impact of his murder on the local community in Queens. It’s devastating to think about the fear and instability this kind of violence instills in neighborhoods already struggling with gang presence. The fact that innocent people get caught up in these pointless turf wars is unnerving. Oscar's family, friends, and others in the community deserve to feel safe and to see justice served for their loved one’s senseless loss. It's hard not to think about the ripple effects this has on younger kids living in the area who might feel pressured to join gangs for protection or a sense of belonging. It’s really crucial that alongside law enforcement efforts, there's support and outreach to guide these kids towards safer paths.
