I've been following Jessica Wiltse's case closely, and I keep thinking about the role surveillance footage played in nabbing Cynell Brown so quickly. It's chilling to imagine how he was walking around, buying items one night and committing such an unspeakable act the next. Thank goodness for technology and the diligent work of law enforcement—it’s because of this evidence that some justice has been served. Still, the absence of a motive keeps gnawing at me. What could push someone to do this?! My heart goes out to Jessica's family, especially her kids. I can't imagine the pain her parents must be feeling as they raise those boys without their mom. This case is just beyond tragic, and I hope it highlights the importance of keeping communities safe and looking out for one another.
