I just can't stop thinking about how devastating this must have been for the kids Joseph Davis coached. These young athletes probably looked up to him as more than just a coach—they saw a mentor, someone who believed in them and their potential. Having someone so integral to your development and community taken away in such a senseless manner is beyond difficult to process. I've read about the ripple effects of violence in communities, but knowing that a whole group of kids lost their guiding light is deeply troubling. I hope they have access to counseling and support during such a tough time. How do we as a society better protect those who dedicate their lives to uplifting others?

I was deeply touched reading about Joseph Davis's story. As someone who has followed the ripple effects of crimes like these, I can't help but think about the young athletes Joseph mentored. Losing a coach isn't just losing a team leader; it’s losing a role model, a figure who often plays a pivotal role in shaping their character. I can't imagine what those kids felt - coming to practice and not seeing Joseph there must have been incredibly difficult. I hope the community continues to rally around those kids, showing them strength and unity in Joseph's memory. It's a reminder of the importance of positive influences and the void left when they are taken away too soon. Sending thoughts to everyone affected.
