I was reflecting on how DeQwaun was not only a victim but a beacon of hope for his community. It's so incredible to see someone take their experiences and strive to make a positive change. He was on the path to launching a nonprofit to help young men, which shows his commitment to creating a safer environment for the youth in Buffalo. It’s absolutely devastating that his dreams were cut short.

I've been following the case of DeQwaun Newkirk, and my heart goes out to his family, especially his mother, Tonja. I can't begin to imagine the pain they must be feeling, not just from losing DeQwaun, but also having faced tragedy before with another family member. It's just so unfair.
One thing that's been on my mind is the bravery and determination of DeQwaun's mother. She found her son that night and has had to relive that horror while facing a seemingly stalled investigation. Yet, she's out there organizing vigils and walks, pledging to continue DeQwaun's legacy. It shows immense strength amidst such sorrow, and it's a reminder of the power of a mother’s love. ?
The fact there's clear security footage and still no arrests is just baffling. I understand the police have a lot on their plates, but surely there's more that can be done. It must be incredibly frustrating for the Newkirk family, seeing months and years pass without justice.
I hope anyone who knows something will feel compelled to come forward, not just for the reward, but out of compassion for a family that's been through too much. It's about breaking the cycle of violence and fear that grips so many communities.

Has anyone else seen the footage from the security cameras at DeQwaun’s mom’s house? It’s chilling to think that such clear evidence still hasn’t led to an arrest. I can't even imagine how hard it must be for his family to have those images and still not have the answers they desperately need. Given what DeQwaun was going through to make a difference in his community, it's so painful to see his case left unsolved.
