I’ve been thinking a lot about Chernet Tiruneh’s story and just can't get over the sense of loss his family and the Rochester community must be feeling. It’s really tragic to learn how someone who dedicated his life to supporting his family and neighborhood was taken so brutally. I was particularly moved by the outpouring of love and respect from his community during the trial. Seeing all those people who came forward to speak about how Chernet had impacted their lives shows just how special he was. It seems like he was more than just a business owner; he was a cornerstone for so many, especially as someone who'd built a new life here after emigrating from Ethiopia. I hope Chernet’s family finds some solace in knowing how deeply he was loved and the mark he left on those around him. Sending strength to them during such a tough time.
