Hey everyone, I've been following the discussions about the tragic death of Edwin Thomas and the broader violence in New Orleans, specifically in the 7th District. I've been trying to understand more about the community impact of this violence. It’s concerning how residents in neighborhoods like New Orleans East have been living with this constant threat. I read that there have been efforts to increase community engagement, but I’m curious to hear thoughts from those who live in or know this area: Have there been any visible changes or improvements in the community's relationship with law enforcement since 2016? Also, are there any local grassroots initiatives or community groups that have made a difference in bringing awareness or reducing these tragic incidents? Sending thoughts to Edwin’s family and friends during what must be such a difficult time. Thank you to those who continue to shed light on these issues and work towards lasting change. Would love to hear any perspectives on this. Stay safe, everyone.
