Has anyone else been thinking about the tragic failure of the support systems in place for Fatoumata and Musa? It’s utterly devastating to realize that despite the protective orders and panic buttons, Fatoumata was still unable to find safety in her own home. It makes you wonder about the effectiveness of these measures, especially when dealing with situations involving mental illness. Were there enough resources provided to help manage the escalating situation between them? My heart goes out to the family, especially the other children who have lost their mother in such a shocking way. It just feels like there were so many red flags along the way that weren’t adequately addressed by the system. What more could have been done to prevent this heartbreak?
