I can't stop thinking about the impact this tragedy has had on the SUNY Potsdam community, especially the Crane School of Music. Elizabeth Howell seemed like such a dedicated and talented musician, and I can only imagine what a loss her absence must be for those who knew her. It’s chilling to think that something so senseless and violent could happen in what should be a safe and nurturing environment for students. I’ve been following discussions and it’s clear how deeply she was cherished by her peers and professors. It’s comforting to see her legacy being honored through various memorials and tributes, but it makes me wonder how the community will heal from something like this, and what can be done to foster safety and unity moving forward. Sending strength to everyone affected by this tragedy.
