Has anyone looked into whether the weather conditions on June 18, 1983, could have been a factor in the disappearance of Chivers and Galbo? I've read the Turnagain Arm area can be unpredictable and even dangerous for seasoned adventurers. It's odd that the canoe was found upright but empty. Also, considering the body of their dog was found, it makes me wonder if there was some sort of accident or if they might have tried to swim to shore for any reason. Does anyone have information on the typical conditions on 6 Mile Creek during that time of year?
Has anyone else been curious about the dog that was found during the search for Chivers and Galbo? It just seems strange to me that the dog's body was discovered, but there's no trace of the men besides the life jacket. I've been thinking about whether the location where the dog was found could provide any clues. Was it close to where their canoe was found? Could it suggest anything about what might have happened to the two men? I know the area is pretty rugged and unpredictable, but these little details just have me wondering if there's more to the story. Anyone familiar with canoeing in Turnagain Arm have any theories on how events might've unfolded?
