This whole situation is incredibly sad for everyone involved, especially Marcus Bennett's family. I keep thinking about how common it is for minor disagreements to spiral out of control. From all accounts, it seems Marcus was just trying to enjoy a summer evening with friends when things went horribly wrong. It’s hard to accept that a life ended over something so trivial as a bruised ego. I hope this case can highlight the importance of de-escalation in conflicts; we need more community resources focused on conflict resolution. My heart goes out to Marcus's loved ones, who must now cope with this senseless loss.
