It's been over two decades since the horrendous incident at that Dunkin’ Donuts in Camp Springs, and yet the pain seems fresh each time I think about it. One thing that’s always puzzled me is how Ashvin Patel, the sole survivor, found the strength to heal and move forward after witnessing such an unspeakable tragedy. I can’t imagine the nightmares he must have faced, having lost two friends and been subjected to that kind of cruelty. The courage it must have taken for him to testify during the trial speaks volumes about his character. I truly hope he has found some level of peace all these years later. It's vital for communities to support victims and survivors in such situations, offering resources and compassion. If anyone knows more about how Ashvin is doing today, or if he’s shared his journey publicly, I’d appreciate any updates. It's important to remember the victims beyond just their tragedy.
