I can't stop thinking about how promising Marie's future was, and it's beyond upsetting that it was stolen from her in such a senseless way. What's particularly upsetting is how she was lured into the situation under the guise of needing to help someone she once cared for. It's terrifying how domestic violence can escalate so quickly, and it often seems to catch everyone by surprise. It should be a wake-up call to all of us about the importance of recognizing the signs and providing support to those who might be trapped in harmful relationships. Her family, friends, and all who knew her are in my thoughts. I hope they find some peace in knowing that the community stands behind them and that justice will be served.
