I’ve been thinking about Michael Martin's case a lot. The fact that his murder remains unsolved feels so unjust. For anyone who knew him or just cares about justice, it's like living in limbo. One detail I haven't seen much discussion about is the atmosphere in the neighborhood around the time of his murder. New Orleans was going through a tough time in 2017 with escalating violence. I wonder if the surge in crime created a sort of “numbness” in the community, where these tragic events became all too common? It’s horrifying to consider that his murder could be just another statistic in a year marked by so much sorrow. Does anyone else think that this prevalence of violence might affect how these cases are investigated? A community under stress might not communicate as openly, or people might not come forward with information even if they have it. Maybe people need reassurance that their information will be acted upon swiftly and safely. The city, and those like Michael’s family, deserve answers and peace.

Has anyone else been following the cold case of Michael Martin from New Orleans? It's been almost six years, and it seems like it just fell through the cracks. I can't help but feel for his family, especially knowing how the city was during that time with violence peaking. I read somewhere that 2017 was particularly rough for New Orleans in terms of murder rates. It's so frustrating that with all the crime happening back then, Michael's case hasn't been solved yet. I really hope someone comes forward with new information or that the authorities get a break in the case. His family deserves closure, and Michael deserves justice. If anyone has any updates or ideas on how we can keep this case alive in the public eye, please share. Lives shouldn't just be reduced to statistics.
